Jimmy Hill (Match of the Day Presenter) Has Died

The Football Forum is separate from the main sports section because football is the world's biggest sport. So, whether you have some news about soccer or want to plug your team, do that here.

Jimmy Hill (Match of the Day Presenter) Has Died

Post by Bandit »

Jimmy Hill (Match of the Day Presenter) Has Died

He was always a familiar face on our televisions in the seventies and was mostly recognised for his beard and pointy chin.
The influential Hill has had a successful career in the world of football and even became a chairman of Coventry City as well as other notable successes.
Jimmy Hill was the "face" of football in Britain for years.
Apparently he thought up the three points for a win when at one time it was just two so he had his say on the actual game as well.
Jimmy Hill suffered from Alzheimer's disease and has died ages 87.

Jimmy Hill was one of those "nice" TV presenters.
I don't think I ever saw him lose his cool.
RIP
And more to the point...................

Many of the younger generation may not appreciate the contribution to football that Jimmy Hill has given.
He was a good calm presenter and his big chin always made him stand out.
Very sad :(
I will not be reading any newspapers today, its my day off!
