Doomsday asteroid 2016 WF9 hurtling towards Earth
The asteroid called 2016 WF9 is hurtling towards Earth and will come into Earths orbit on February 25th 2017.
NASA has said it will pass Earth around 32 million miles away.
In terms of space this is nothing so lets hope the scientists have their calculations correct.
If this asteroid hits Earth it will cause so much damage and possibly wipe out much life here including mega-tsunamis such is it's size.
The asteroid is between 0.3 to 0.6 miles (0.5 to 1 kilometre) across so it is a big one.
Let us all hope and pray that this monster misses us.

Well the date has passed and so has this asteroid.
We are safe again until the next one

Apparently it will come back like Haylley's Comet does but a lot sooner.

Can I come out from under the bed now
Apparently a smaller object came flying by Earth and wasn't discovered until six hours before it's closest position to us.
That was only a few days ago and it just skimmed Earth's atmosphere.
