The Radio 2 DJ has been sacked after a leaked report which alleges that he was questioned in 1971 over the seduction of a 15 year old girl.
The girl, Claire McAlpine, later took her own life.
Claire McAlpine:
Tony Blackburn says that he wasn't probed and will be now suing the BBC.
Blackburn has been with the BBC for five decades and is now 73.
Tony Blackburn was spoken to by his bosses at the time and I think that's what he is denying.
Certainly, the complaint made by the girl and her mother was withdrawn at the time.
Since Tony Blackburn didn't co-operate with the BBC during their enquiries, they will have to do something like this.
The problem is people are just going to read the headlines and think something completely different when the headlines quote a 15 year old girl.
What a shame she took her own life.
Its such a sad story, you would think that Blackburn would have stated all he knew about the incident at the time out of respect.
He only seems to be bothered about his reputation.
