Police use lorry to prosecute drivers

Police use lorry to prosecute drivers

In the 2 years that police across the UK have used this lorry, they have nobbled over 4,000 drivers.
Two thirds were caught using a mobile phone.
However, according to this article, less than 1,000 were given a fixed penalty or prosecuted.
What happened to the others, it doesn't say.
But, the message here is that the police are using methods way below the belt to catch people on the roads.

The lorry idea although cunning may have prevented an accident or two, but its still not the way police should be doing things.
I know most drivers are responsible but if it is mobile phones the police are mainly bothered about, then they should use the money to educate people.
Or better still, in this day and age, surely technology is available to stop drivers using phones in their vehicles except for emergencies.

It makes you think what other methods the police are using as part of their underhand methods.
The Great British follies - interesting indeed!
